Dear Friends

Harvest is a time to share God's gifts around the world.  It is a celebration of the earth as a created gift from God.  It is a time when we should recognise our dependence on God and our need for each other.  Therefore we all have a responsibility to use the gifts and resources we have for the benefits of all who are in need, wherever they are in the world.

One way of sharing God's gifts is through donating financially to charities working in countries where people are in poverty and in need.  That's where this year's harvest charity Send a Cow comes in.  The gift of money, given generously and cheerfully by you and me to send A Cow, results in gifts being passed on to those living in poverty in Africa, such as, the gift of a cow, the gift of seeds and the gift of training.  However, for those who receive these gifts, even greater gifts are bestowed- gifts that change and  transform individual lives and communities forever.  The best way to convey this is to let Rose Aguti from Uganda speak for herself:

"There are three things I am grateful to Send a Cow for.  One, I now have friends to share my problems with, making them lighter and leaving me happy.  Two, the training in organic farming that helped me change my life.  Three, the cow.  it provides me with the manure, has already calved and provides milk for the children.  When I look at the compost now I know I can achieve anything.  I used to be very short tempered and constantly think about death.  Now - never talk to me about death, I have a reason to live- my children are in school and happy."

If you are able to make a donation to Send a Cow, this harvest time, please use the gift envelopes provided or if you are reading this on the website please go to www.sendacow.org.uk or call  01225 874 222

Many Thanks and every blessing.
