Dear Friends

How do you feel when you get a personal invitation to a special event? Honoured?  Surprised?  Excited?

Over the next few weeks, Christians across UK churches are set to personally invite family, friends, and neighbours to 'Come as you are' services on Sunday 27th September 2009, making the event one of the largest co-ordinated evangelism events shared across the Church in recent history.

A Church of england initiative 'Back to Church Sunday' began in Manchester in 2004, and over the years has developed and grown.  Last year 450 Baptist churches took part and currently there are 4650 UK churches, including Baptists, participating  this year and we at Hall Green Baptist will be part of it.

So who could you invite to the service on the 27th September?  At the back of the church you will find invitation cards which you can send to someone.  Simply follow the instructions on the card and give both to the person you are inviting.   You may think there is no one you could invite- but I am sure that if you think carefully and pray- god will reveal the person(s) to you.  Margaret Wattis is co-ordinating the names of people who have been involved in the life of the church over the years so  you may want to check with her before sending your invitation.

If we don't invite people they won't come!  So, it's up to each one of us to play our part.  I would also encourage you to pray daily for those who will be coming, for the service and those taking part, and that through the Holy spirit it will have an impact on those attending.

Every Blessing

Paul
